ABOUT THE RECIPE
We finally have a recipe for a Nordic Mix shirt for children! This has the same construction as the adult jersey from Fremstrikk 2023. The children's jersey is knitted in Finull for a thinner and lighter jersey that fits well with active children. The Nordic Mix Mini is cool with its spacious and straight fit. It has raw edges, i.e. no ribbing, which gives the garment a particularly clean and simple look. If the edges roll, they can be steamed in place.
Nordic Mix Mini is knitted in the round, from the bottom up according to the diagram. The shoulders are knitted together by casting off every other stitch from the front and back piece. Stitches are taken up to the neck and knitted in the round. Next, the armholes must be cut up, but before this, the cut stitches at the sleeves are secured by crocheting or sewing, so that the work does not unravel. Finally, stitches are taken up for sleeves, and the sleeves are knitted from top to bottom. The diagrams are slightly different in the different sizes. They are adapted so that they each appear harmonious. There are many good videos on YouTube about pattern knitting, steaming, securing and cutting up knitting.
