Everyone knows the classic Norwegian mittens from Selbu, but what is the story behind them – and how are they knitted? Now this beautiful and inspiring book full of recipes for mittens is finally available in a Danish edition.

Norwegian mittens from Selbu deal with the well-known knitting tradition that goes back to the 1850s and up to today. The oldest mittens were used on special occasions and often as a gift, e.g. in connection with weddings.

Author Anne Bårdsgård grew up in Selbu in Norway and has always had a close relationship with both Selbu and mitten knitting. Together with knitters in Selbu, she has recreated recipes for old patterns here. In addition, the book contains a thorough and well-researched story about the history and significance of the mittens.

The huge collection of patterns in the book can be combined in countless ways, and the procedure is explained in both text and pictures.
