First book from @slowknitwear, the Instagram account behind the popular balaclava TROMSØ Hoodie. In Strikk fra nord, Slow Knitwear shares its very best knitting recipes inspired by the Kven and Sami cultural heritage. Christina Gjertsen is a knitting designer and photographer, raised in Finnmark and with roots in Kven and Sami culture. Her own family background and the nature in Finnmark are a source of inspiration when she develops her beautiful knitting patterns under the name @slowknitwear. The book contains simple recipes for good woolen clothes for women, men and children. Here are clothes in both thick and thin wool, perfect for people who enjoy an active outdoor life. Each design has a unique pattern that is repeated on both jerseys and accessories such as headbands and seat cushions, and the names are inspired by the northern Norwegian nature.
