Matoaka polar round felling

You have the option of buying the pattern together with the yarn in a physical printed version, or you can download the pattern.

The recipe is in Norwegian and English.

This is a 2 in 1 pattern with a high and low neck as well as a polar hood version. Now I have made a thick version with round folding for colder days. The shirt is knitted in Troll or Blåne, but you can use other yarn such as Alafosslopi if you want a water-repellent blouse.

Many have asked for yarn alternatives for everyday use, and I have therefore included that in the recipe.

The sweater is knitted round and round, from the bottom up. The top and sleeves are knitted separately before being joined on a needle when the yoke is to be knitted.

Matoaka polar is a thick and good sweater that can be knitted as a sweater with a low or high neck, or as a fleece hooded version. The Matoaka Polar Hat has a hood and extra length on the body, so you are dressed for extra cold days. Matoaka Polar must have a range of motion of between 10-15 cm. Measure around the chest and add 10-15 cm to the outer width of the garment to find your size. Enjoy the knitting!

Size XS (S) M (L) XL (XXL)

Knit strength
10 cm stocking stitch on needle 6 (6.5) 6 (6.5) 6 (6.5) mm= 14 (13) 14 (13) 14 (13) stitches
10 cm stocking stitch on needles 7 (7.5) 7 (7.5) 7 (7.5) mm= 14 (13) 14 (13) 14 (13) stitches
(The indicated needle size is only a guide. If you get more stitches than indicated on 10 cm, go up a needle size. If you get fewer stitches than indicated on 10 cm, go down one needle size).

NB! It is easy to knit tighter on the yoke with three colors and long jumps. I therefore include in the pattern that you must change to needles 7 (7.5) 7 (7.5) 7 (7.5) mm when you knit the pattern to ensure a knitting strength of 14 (13) 14 (13 ) 14 (13) stitches of 10 cm. Everyone knits differently and it is therefore important that you check your knitting strength on the pattern, as well as plain stockinette stitch.

Yarn: Trold and/or Blåne from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk. The sweater can also be knitted in Alafosslopi. Alafosslopi is a thicker yarn than Troll and Blåne, so you can go half a needle size down from the stated size. Alafosslopi also has a somewhat shorter running length.

Knit from the bottom up on circular needle. Ice-stitched sleeves.
