For Fremstrikk, Laura Dalgaard has designed the Nordic Mix Sweater. A patterned sweater in two colors inspired by traditional knitting from the Nordic countries. "I am primarily inspired by the yarn, i.e. Fivel. I wanted to make a mash-up of different traditional patterns and give it new life.” She found old pictures of sweaters in patterned knits, which she cut apart and glued back together to make a sweater with different patterns.
Also, Laura did a knitting swatch with traditional patterns and included a leopard pattern to break it up a bit. But it was not enough. It had to be even more different. She tried to let the different patterns flow more into each other. Then it started to look like something she had imagined.
