Holger sweater
Holger sweater is knitted from the top down. The body is knitted with stripes, while the sleeves and neckline are knitted in one colour. First, the upper part of the back is knitted back and forth, shaping the slope of the shoulders with double pointed needles, at the same time that stripes are knitted. The shoulders are then knitted separately back and forth on circular needle. These are gathered at the front to form the front piece. Front and back are then joined to form the body, which is knitted in the round on circular needle with stripes. The sleeves are knitted from gathered sts along the sleeve opening. The folded neckline of the neck is finally knitted from the gathered stitches.

Holger Sweater should have some movement (positive ease) of approx. 20-25 cm in relation to the chest measurement.
Sizes 1-2 (2-3) 3-4 (4-5) 5-6 (6-7) 7-8 (8-9) 9-10 (10-11) 11-12 (12-14) years corresponds to a chest measurement of approximately 53 (54) 56 (57) 59 (62) 64 (68) 72 (75) 78 (82) cm. The measurements of the finished sweater are given on the front of the pattern (note that these measurements only apply if the knitting tension is observed). If you/the recipient, for example, measures 62 cm around the chest, you should knit a size 6-7 years. A sweater in size 6-7 years has an excess width of 86 cm and in the mentioned example will provide room for movement (positive ease) of 24 cm. If the measured chest measurement differs from the age guide, you should be aware of adapting the lengths to the person you are knitting for. The same applies if the child is shorter/taller than average.
